I was beyond excited to be chosen to photograph Sarah and Tony’s Okemo Wedding, knowing it is a special place to them and holds so many memories. In the picturesque mountainside of Vermont they prepared for a beautiful outdoor ceremony with nature as their backdrop. Mother nature had other plans for them and she decided that they should hang out under a tent. Never ones to let anything get them down… we marched on with big smiles. Who cares right? Tony & Sarah were going to be husband and wife and it was going to be amazing no matter what! Mother nature may have changed their plans for the ceremony… but she paid them back in spades when the day ended with their very own very real big bold beautiful rainbow!
A word about these amazing people.. These are my clients, but they are my friends who I consider a part of my family. I have known Tony since I was a young girl growing up we sang together and were friends, but when my life turned upside down and I came home to Bethel he was one of the first to welcome me with open arms. Soon after coming home I met Sarah and we became fast friends. Thru some difficult times they have always stood by my side because that’s just the kind of people they are. Last year when it was my turn to say I do to my best friend the two of them did everything in their power to help us make that happen. They stayed up half the night working to have everything just perfect for our special day, because that’s the kind of people they are. THEY ARE THE BEST KIND OF PEOPLE.
When Tony told me he was going to spend the rest of his life with his best friend and asked me to be there to capture every moment starting with the proposal I was flattered and honored to be a part of such special moments in their lives, and grateful for the opportunity to show them how special they are to me. I didn’t know then that beyond being my amazing friends they are about the most fun people ever to photograph, they love life and each other, they live every moment to the fullest and are never afraid to let the silly shine thru. They are everything that we here at Aurora Photography love in our clients, and in our friends.
Yesterday as they began their lives together I was both honored and totally moved to be a part of their day. My team and I had the most amazing time, no amount of crazy rain can shadow the kind of love these two have. In the end the love broke thru parted the clouds and well… you’ll see.
This is only a teaser but a small sampling of their beautiful Okemo Wedding… but then it’s just the start of their lives together. I love you two!! Thank you for loving me and my family, thank you for making us a part of yours and thank you for allowing us to share in the incredible love that you have for each other and everyone around you. I hope you know how special and amazing you are.
Here’s to the beginning of the rest of your life, looking forward to the next big celebration.
And so until then… in the immortal words of Kermit. The Frog… I offer you this…
“Someday we’ll find it, the rainbow connection,The lovers, the dreamers and me.”
